Magnus Momsen

Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller

Magnus Momsen is responsible for managing the worldwide accounting organization. Momsen joined Varian in 2010. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and holds a BA in Economics from University of California, Santa Cruz and a MS in Accounting from San Jose State University.

Magnus is an alum of San Jose State, where he received his Master’s in Accounting and was part of Beta Alpha Psi. He worked in audit for PwC for many years, where one of the clients was Varian. After years of service, he moved to Varian. Soon after joining, Magnus became Corporate Controller (Chief Accounting Officer), following the spin-off of a business segment in early 2017. The CAO office oversees several hundred employees, spread globally across countries and business segments.

Since becoming Corporate Controller, Magnus has played crucial roles throughout the Finance Organization. He is working on a number of initiatives globally, across finance functions & offices. He has also been actively contributing to the creation of the Finance Development Program at Varian. Additionally, he has contributed to the growth of the finance internship program here at Varian.
